Meet the Spencer family! Since our marriage in 2012, Adrian and I have been graced with two beautiful daughters—Georgia, born in 2014, and Eva, born in 2015. Our home is nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of the Peak District in the North West of England, a haven of natural beauty and family warmth. Join us on our travels as we navigate life’s joys and challenges on the road, sharing our experiences, insights, and the love that binds us together.
The Spencer family thrives on adventure, and as our daughters, Georgia and Eva, grow, so does our appetite for excitement. This year has been a whirlwind of adrenaline—from cantering along Formby Beach on our ponies to zip-lining through the Monteverde Cloud Forest, tackling the biggest and fastest waterslides, and enjoying a breathtaking helicopter ride over Iguassu Falls. But it’s not always about the thrill; we also cherish moments of tranquillity, strapping on our walking boots with our friends and family amidst the scenic beauty of the places we explore.
We’re a family that thrives on exploration. Whether it’s setting up camp in our beloved Peak District or venturing into uncharted territories abroad, we grab every opportunity with both hands. Being driven by a genuine interest in diverse landscapes, cultures, and languages led us to what some might call a midlife awakening for Adrian and me. In the spring of 2023, we made a bold choice to withdraw the girls from conventional education and embark on an 18-month journey around the world. By November, our bags were packed, we had said our farewells to friends and family and set out on an adventure where the world became the classroom for us all.
Beyond Khao San Road originated from our desire to keep our loved ones up to date with our adventures as well as sharing valuable insights and tips about family travel. In 2008, whilst Adrian was travelling the world, the name struck him as ideal for an adventurer. Little did he know that 15 years later, it would become the perfect platform for documenting our experiences as a travelling family. Now, Beyond Khao San Road serves as a hub for our musings, offering a glimpse into our journey and providing valuable information for fellow travellers, especially those exploring the world with children.
