It is no suprise that La Fortuna is so popular with families. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, lush rainforest and towering volcanoes it has to be seen to be beleived. La Fortuna is also host to some incredible activities like the Hot Springs and Waterfall, so how can you get travel about La Fortuna with children to make the most of it?
We visited we stayed a little outside the main town in Los Lagos Hotel, Spa & Resort which put us at a bit of a disadvantage when we wanted to get around. First we tried taxis which turned out to be unreliable and expensive ($15 for a 5 min ride from the town to the hotel) and very hard to find at times in the town itself. Nothing like being stuck with two hot, tired children and not being able to get back to your hotel! Fortuantly, when getting to and from the town centre Uber turned out to be much cheaper and more reliable.
On our second day a fellow guest mentioned Easy Hop which turned out to be a great option that was fast, reliable and very reasonably priced. It runs all the way from the Hanging Bridges to Fortuna Downtown with stops at all the major attractions and best of all kids are free of charge! The fee is calculated by number of destinations not by distance so it was $12 for all 4 of us from our hotel to the Hanging Bridges and back again.
If you have any questions their website is great and you can message them by WhatsApp directly as well. They were cery resposive to any questions we had and they can also arrange tickets for most of the attractions.
